Stop and Paws: Can We Do More?

📅27th April 2026

⏰️8.30am - 4pm

📍Kirkleatham Walled Garden TS10 4AS

Join us as we learn how to navigate one of the most emotionally challenging aspects of veterinary care - not just for clients but for the team supporting them. Knowing what to say, when to say it and how to offer support and guidance can be difficult.

Over the day we will explore how to approach end-of-life conversations with empathy, clarity, and confidence. Learn how to provide truly compassionate support to pet carers during one of the most difficult times, while also gaining practical tools to help navigate these moments in a way that honours the human-animal bond.

Whether you are a registered veterinary nurse, veterinary surgeon, or client care team member, this session will empower you to make a lasting difference in the experience of both pets and the people who love them.

We are going to be joined by Nikki Keen, a pet bereavement councillor and RVN, as she takes us on the journey through pet bereavement. Throughout the day, Nikki will lead us through:

  • Euthanasia in practice

  • Aftercare

  • Memorials

  • Understanding Grief

  • Our approaches

  • The role of the Pet Loss Councillor

Expect practical take-aways, resources and activities as well as an opportunity to network with other veterinary professionals.

Spaces are limited, so book now and begin your journey towards confidently and compassionately navigating the perfect goodbye.

Kindly sponsored by Paws at Peace.
